The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people's lives. Through the collection and resale of gently used goods we are able to provide the financial support to assist men and women with a variety of social and spiritual afflictions. The in-residence rehabilitation program focuses on basic necessities with every man or woman being provided a clean and healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure time activities, group and individual counseling, and spiritual direction. All our effort is focused on developing life skills and a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. More than just a job, each member of the team contributes to recycling goods that literally recycle and repair broken lives.

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Sales and Production Associate to work in a production store and be responsible to perform a wide variety of duties in the store and the production area. The Sales and Production Associate will maintain order and create and sustain a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintain customer relationships.

Responsibilities:
·         Assist in creating a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintain good customer relationships.
·         Assist, as required, with store operations.
·         Serve all customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
·         Handle all donations with care and donors with respect and courtesy.
·         Handle merchandise as directed, always maintaining proper categories and colorization.
·         Ensure that store is sufficiently stocked and “ragged out” in accordance with the “ARC COMMAND RAG OUT CALENDAR.”
·         Assist in cleaning and general maintenance of store property.
·         Immediately report theft, customer complaints, injuries, and any unsafe equipment or conditions to management.
·         Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area.
·         Be well-versed in and comply with, Guide to Thrift Store & Donation Center Operations manual.
·         This position will support the work therapy program component of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers by providing to beneficiaries; an example of professional conduct, work habits, and supervision (as directed by Supervisor).
·         Other duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor, Store Supervisor, Assistant Store Supervisor, and/or Administrator.

·         Cashier/Sales Floor:
o    Comply with all cash handling and security standards as relates to cash register operations, daily sales reports and bank deposits.
o    Sort, price, stock and “rag out” showcase merchandise and other areas as directed.
o    Restock fitting room merchandise back to racks in proper category and color code.
o    Maintain merchandise displays as directed.
o    Answer telephone calls in an efficient, friendly, professional manner.

·         Sorter:
o    Sort minimum of 300 store quality garments an hour by department.
o    Assist moving the donations to the sorting table as needed.
o    Assist with hanging merchandise as needed.
o    Assist running clothing racks as needed.

·         Hanger/Tagger: 
o    Hang and ticket a minimum of 225 pieces per hour of clothing on rolling racks from sorting table by department on the correct hanger type, and by category in an 8 hour period.
o    Assist moving the donations to the sorting table as needed.
o    Assist sorting clothing as needed.
o    Assist running clothing racks as needed.

·         Pricer:
o    Price a minimum of 250 garments an hour using a wide range of prices determined by the style, quality and condition of each piece.
o    Acquire and maintain knowledge of name brand merchandise and value.
o    Assist moving the donations to the sorting table as needed.
o    Assist ticketing merchandise as needed.
o    Assist with running clothing racks as needed.

·         Runner:
o    Place a minimum of 225 garments an hour from the production room to the sales floor on the proper rack by department, category and color order.
o    Straighten and maintain the clothing racks of the departments as assigned.
o    Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.
o    Assist hanging merchandise as needed.

·         Bric a Brac:
o    Sort and clean all saleable miscellaneous merchandise donations daily.
o    Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item.
o    Place and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner.
o    Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.

·         Shoes/Accessories:
o    Sort and clean all saleable shoes, handbags and accessory donations daily.
o    Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item.
o    Process to the store a minimum of 25 pieces/sets per hour maintaining all merchandise in the required order and manner.
o    Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.

·         Domestics:
o    Sort and measure all saleable linen items daily as required.
o    Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item.
o    Process to the store a minimum of 25 pieces/sets per hour maintaining all merchandise in the required order and manner.
o    Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.

·         Books/Records/Toys:
o    Sort and clean all saleable merchandise daily as required.
o    Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item in accordance with established policies.
o    Place and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner.
o    Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial Rag Out Calendar.

·         Furniture/Electrical:
o    Sort, clean and test all electrical and furniture donations as required.
o    Ticket all electrical merchandise using “sold as is” tickets and assign an individual fair market price for each item.
o    Complete furniture tickets and record required information assigning a fair market price for each furniture item.
o    Place and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner.
o    Mark down furniture items on sales floor in accordance with policy.
o    Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.

·         Donations/Maintenance:
o    Maintain the cleanliness of the sales floor, bathrooms, entry, windows, sidewalks and parking areas daily.
o    Accept donations in accordance with standard policies while providing courteous, respectful service to the donor.
o    Able to lift 100 pounds.
o    Receive and receipt, as per policy, all donated material in a courteous and efficient manner. Maintain cleanliness of all donation facilities.
o    Safeguard all donated materials and assigned equipment.
o    Ensure a constant flow of donations to the sorting table throughout the day.
o    Assist with ragging out the sales floor as assigned.
o    Bale ragouts and trash as required.
o    Perform lawn and garden work as needed.

Qualifications:
·         Ability to speak and understand English for effective communication with supervisors, employees, beneficiaries, and customers.
·         Excellent customer service skills.
·         Ability to understand and follow directions.
·         Ability to stand for long periods of time.
·         Ability to lift 50 pounds.
